Position: Program Coordinator, Programs and Global Initiatives

Overview:
The Coordinator for Programs and Global Initiatives will work with the Associate Dean for Programs and Global Initiatives to:
1) Support existing Academic programs
2) Assist in the development of new programs (including online initiatives)
3) Assist in the day-to-day management of global programs and non-JD programs, which will include
The Advanced JD Program for Non-US lawyers (AJD); the LLM program in International Trade and Business Law and the SJD program. As well as International exchanges, visiting international scholars, Master in Legal Studies (MLS) program; and undergraduate classes and programs.
Job Duties:
*Provide day-to-day administrative support for the Associate Dean for Programs and Global Initiatives.
*Provide administrative support for and assist in the recruitment, enrollment, orientation, assimilation, and nurturing of international students, visiting scholars and non-JD students.
*Assist admitted international students and visiting international scholars in regards to immigration issues, including securing visas for entry into the U.S. and summer and post-graduate work-permission
*Serve as liaison with other student support offices at the law school and on campus in relation to international and non-JD students.
*Participate in planning and execution of programming related to global issues.
*Provide logistical support to visiting foreign faculty and other foreign dignitaries.
*Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years of administrative/coordinative program experience; OR, six years of progressively responsible administrative coordinative program experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

*Excellent judgment and superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
*Strong attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
*Cultural awareness and sensitivity, and demonstrated effectiveness relating to students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
*Ability to respond to numerous competing demands, coordinates the work of others, and handles multiple programs and activities.
*Ability to prospectively identify and address issues and tasks needing attention.
*Ability to take the initiative in furthering the success of relevant programs.
*Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with others.
*Ability to actively listen, empathize and understand the concerns of others.
*Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Requirements:
*Professional proficiency in a second language, with a particular preference for Chinese, Spanish, or Portuguese.
*Student services experience, and particularly experience in the recruitment and provision of services to international students.
*Experience with the administration of international programs and services at the college or graduate level.
*Working knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to immigration and VISA processes
*Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
*Knowledge of University systems including UAccess.
*Prior experience with marketing, including international marketing
