Overview:
Ohio University is hiring a Study Abroad Program Coordinator within the Office of Education Abroad. We seek a candidate with a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Job Duties:
- Manage assigned faculty-led study abroad programs.
- Recruit, train and supervise student peer advisors.
- Promote the benefit of education abroad and Ohio University¹s program offerings across its main and regional campuses through presentations, events sponsored by other university offices, and fairs.
- Advise students on study abroad options and follow up with students interested in study abroad.
- Develop and update Education Abroad website and print content as needed.
- Creates and updates advising materials.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 6 months experience abroad (studying, working, volunteering, or interning).
- Demonstrated work experience within the field of international education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master¹s degree; experience working in a multicultural and/or international environment.
- Preference given to work within the field of education abroad, ideally for at least one year.
- Intercultural competence as well as outstanding communication and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, faculty and administrators.
