Salary: $4,373 – $4,667 per month ($52,476 – $56,004 annually)

Overview:
The Office of International Programs at San Francisco State University has is seeking a Coordinator of Study Abroad. The incumbent will coordinate all aspects of the study abroad program at SF State, including program development and promotion, student advising and selection, health/safety and liability management, pre-departure and re-entry. The incumbent will work across the full breadth of the SF State community and a large network of international partners to accomplish these objectives.
Requirements:
Education: equivalent to graduation from a four year college or university in a related field.
Work Experience: four years progressively responsible student services work experience including advising students and analyzing and resolving complex student services; four year experience in study abroad advising and promotion; four years of experience working with international bilateral exchange programs and partner universities; one year experience studying or living abroad; experience with health/safety and liability management procedures in study abroad; demonstrated experience managing crisis situations involving study abroad students; working with faculty and academic units.
Specialized Knowledge: thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and practices of administering study abroad programs; credit transfer issues in study abroad.
Specialized Skills: effective interpersonal and communication skills; knowledge/use of computer programs; proficiency in a foreign language.
Abilities: demonstrated ability to advise students on complex matters and to manage personal interactions of a sensitive nature; resolve difficult problems involving highly sensitive and complex; resolve student issues or program-wide organizational matters in cross cultural and international contexts; within assigned areas of responsibility, ability to independently plan and organize work requirements, determine work priorities, and select appropriate methods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in related field
- Participation in local and national international education organizations
- Knowledge of study abroad process management software products
