Overview:
The Embassy of Japan is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual for a position in the Japan Information and Cultural Centre (JICC). This position will be responsible for a wide range of general office administrative duties, including the Japan Exchange & Teaching (JET) Programme, Embassy website and social media presence.
Please note: Candidates must have either New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency. Only short-listed candidates will be contacted and interviewed. Screening will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled.
Outline of duties:
− Planning and implementation of the JET Programme in New Zealand.
− Drafting and uploading documents on JICC and JET Programme activities onto the Embassy homepage and Facebook.
− Introducing and disseminating Japan related information to schools and communities.
− Coordinating and processing of applications for programmes such as Japanese Government Scholarships, the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, and Japan Foundation Grant Programmes.
− Other duties as required
Required skills:
− Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese (e.g. equivalent of level 1 Japanese Proficiency Test)
− Computer proficiency in both English and Japanese (Microsoft Office applications).
− Previous participation on the JET Programme is highly desirable.
