Job Position: Japanese Content QA Specialist at Amazon

The Kindle team is looking for an experienced Content Quality Assurance Specialist. The Kindle Content QA Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the digital text products that Amazon provides to our customers meet the very highest standards.

This role is responsible for helping to create the best possible reading experience by ensuring the highest level of digital content quality across all genres, titles, and devices. The successful candidate will be methodical, analytical, objective, and goal-focused with a driving need for accuracy and attacking difficult problems. They will be a strong communicator, able to bridge between technical and non-technical teams. They will be comfortable in a fast paced work environment with proven ability to be successful in an evolving business.

The Kindle Content QA Specialist will:

– Rigorously proofread Kindle books to ensure compliance with established standards
– Help to establish process and quality guidelines to ensure quality levels of Kindle books are consistently maintained
– Think creatively to resolve content issues and identify scalable solutions that enable delivery of a high quality product
– Maintain meticulous reporting and tracking, present findings to internal and external stakeholders
– Be able to work cross-functionally to communicate errors, perceived errors or product improvements in various types of Kindle books.

Basic Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or similar required
– 1-3 years experience in editing, quality assurance or publishing-related operations
– Excellent written and oral communication, ability to bridge technical and non-technical issues
– Expertise with MS Windows and MS Office tools, specifically MS Excel
– Must be fluent in Japanese

Preferred Qualifications:
– Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to get things done
– Experience working with digital text (e.g., website editing or design, digital content, digitization, etc) strongly desired, including familiarity with HTML, CSS, InDesign and other digital text code
– Have flexibility with changing programs and processes

Troy Coker, over at H10 Capital is looking to fill 3 of these positions with Amazon. These positions are ENTRY LEVEL QA – for people who want to expand their careers in IT and use their Japanese expertise. In order to this job successfully, you should probably be at least 2kyuu level in terms of language proficiency, but 1kyuu is best. These are contracts at Amazon, through H10, and will include benefits and w-2 pay rates of between $22-25/hr, based on experience.
