INTERN – Journalism Summer Internship 2011- Tokyo (10 weeks)
The Reuters Japan newsroom seeks two talented student journalists with a passion for breaking news to work as paid interns in Tokyo during the summer of 2011.
There is nothing like the constant deadline of a news agency to hone your reporting and writing skills. The ten-week internships are a crash course in hands-on business, political and general news reporting.
A Reuters internship offers student journalists a global audience of leading media outlets, financial decision-makers and savvy Internet readers with a potential audience of a billion people.
We seek bilingual journalists who are curious about the world. We want to know what experiences in your life set you apart and make you passionate about journalism.
There is no guarantee of future employment at but the Reuters newsroom has a track record of recruiting the best of our summer interns, subject to job openings.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
* Strong ability to write in English and fluent Japanese.
* Senior or graduate student with a background in journalism.
* Preference given to candidates with the right to work in Japan and who plan to base themselves in Tokyo for the summer.
* An interest in business news writing.
