Job Position: 2 Graduate Admissions Counselor Positions (Tokyo)

Job Details:

Reve Counseling, one of the leading educational consultancies in Japan, is looking to fill 2 Graduate Admissions Counselor positions this summer.

The Graduate Admissions Counselor works with mainly Japanese professionals in the preparation of application materials to graduate (mainly MBA) programs in the U.S. and Europe. The work includes preparing resumes (10%), conducting mock interviews (15%) and guiding clients to write effective essays (75%). Our focus is on getting the clients to find their voices and to present their ideas in the most effective and authentic way possible.

Approximately 30% of the work is done face-to-face in mutually agreed upon locations in Shibuya, Shinjuku and Roppongi Hills and other major areas, and the rest is done on-line. Preference is given to Tokyo-based applicants but we will also consider applicants located outside Tokyo who wish to work exclusively on-line.

Requirements:

  • Native English speaker
  • Graduate degree from competitive university in U.S., U.K., or Canada
  • Some familiarity with Japanese culture, business, and western higher education system
  • Strong writing ability
  • Strong teaching/coaching skills
  • Flexibility and ability to meet deadlines
  • Client-first attitude

    • Some availability to work evenings, weekends and the New Year holiday between August to January/February. The work is seasonal and the position is part-time/contracted. Workload is 2-3 clients, up to 15 hours/week during peak periods. Must already have proper visa if based in Japan.
