WEN CHAO CHEN ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF EAST ASIAN STUDIES
Kalamazoo College seeks an interdisciplinary teacher and scholar for an endowed tenure track position as the Assistant Professor level in East Asian social sciences. Successful candidates must be able to teach a core set of courses in History, ideally modern and pre-modern China and Japan. Preference will be given to those who can make important linkages across and contribute to a broad set of areas, which, besides East Asian studies and history, might include anthropology/sociology and political science. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a high aptitude for and interest in undergraduate teaching, a commitment to the liberal arts, and a desire to involve undergraduates in scholarship both in and out of the classroom. Ph.D. (or evidence of imminent completion) required. Salary is competitive and consistent with level of experience.
