Position Announcement:
The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation, a non-profit that promotes understanding and cooperation between Asia and the United States, seeks a full-time Associate Director of Programs for its Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will be able to start work within two weeks of the job offer, in a hybrid capacity working in-office in Washington, DC at least three days a week.
Job Summary and Requirements
The Associate Director of Programs will have responsibilities in the following areas:
Program Leadership
Lead planning and implementation of Japan and Asia-wide programming, which may include:
- U.S.-Japan Network for the Future
- U.S.-Japan Space Forum
- and/or other programs as assigned
Other Responsibilities
- Perform administrative/organizational duties as required for effective operation of programs
- Prepare and submit grant proposals, reports, concept papers: seek new grant possibilities
- Provide task and management support to the organization’s fundraisers
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date information in database on prospective and awarded grants
- Travel in support of programs
Qualifications
Required
- Master’s degree and five to ten years of professional experience
- Language: Native-level English fluency is required
- Problem solver with proactive and positive attitude
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects at once
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work as part of a multi-time zone and cross-cultural team and independently
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally in support of programs, as required
- U.S. citizenship or current work visa is required
Preferred
- Strong background in international exchange programs, Asian studies, and/or related fields
- Japanese and/or Korean language ability is a plus
- Experience working in a cross-cultural professional environment
Salary and Benefits
The Mansfield Foundation provides a competitive benefits package including paid vacation, health insurance, and contributions to a 403(b) retirement plan. The salary for this position will be $65,000 – $75,000 per year.
