The Georgia Institute of Technology is accepting applications for the position of Education Abroad Advisor for Exchange Programs in the Office of International Education, a unit of Academic Affairs.

Located in Atlanta, Georgia Tech is a Research I institution with approximately 20,000 undergraduate and graduate students.  Georgia Tech has 6 academic colleges:  College of Architecture, College of Computing, College of Engineering (approximately 60% of enrollment), College of Management, Ivan Allen College, and College of Sciences.

In addition to its general role with campus internationalization, the Office of International Education (OIE) serves approximately 5,000+ international students and scholars, 2,000+ study abroad students, 900+ International Plan participants, and 140+ global internship students.

There are 9 full-time staff members and 5 student assistants, including this Education Abroad Advisor, who work with study abroad programs.  Georgia Tech currently offers more than 100 exchange programs and approximately 35 faculty-led study abroad programs.

This position reports to the Director of Education Abroad, and is primarily responsible for advising students, coordinating with staff at Georgia Tech and at partner institutions, and liaising with Academic Units at GT to find the best matches for their curriculum in GT exchange programs.  The responsibilities of this position include:

1.  Advise study abroad students, liaise with partner universities, coordinate exchange programs in the following regions:  Asia, Oceania, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, and the Middle East.
*   Serve as main contact and advisor for students interested in exchange programs in countries/regions listed above at all stages of the study abroad experience (from initial interest and application through departure and reentry), including dealing with crises and emergencies.
*   Prepare GT applications for Director’s review, prepare acceptance packets or denial letters, and coordinate completion and mailing of host institution’s application documents.
*   Work with students, faculty, academic advisors, and Registrar’s Office on credit transfer for individual students and for general standing approval when possible. This includes processing Foreign Credit Approval forms as well as processing transcripts received after students complete programs.
*   Conduct orientations, both practical/logistical and intercultural (with other advisors).
*   Research and collect information to establish credit hour and grade equivalencies when new programs are added and when credit system or grading system changes for existing programs.
*   Obtain information about cost of attendance at host universities in order to prepare budget forms for financial aid purposes.
*   While exchange students are abroad, verify their academic enrollment, work with colleagues at host universities to assist with disciplinary and other unexpected situations that may arise, and continue advising students as needed about their stay abroad, their return to GT, etc.
*   Develop materials (electronic and paper-based) for new exchange programs as they are added to the list of program offerings, and update existing materials to reflect addition of new program (i.e. discipline flyers, general study abroad opportunities flyer, etc.).
2.  Serve as academic liaison for exchange programs:  work with Academic Advisors, Undergraduate Coordinators, and others in academic units to serve as their primary contact about overall foreign credit transfer, preferred partnerships, and other exchange program matters.
3.  Coordinate intercultural trainings/reentry for exchange students.  This includes assisting the Assistant Director with content, scheduling rooms, preparing packets/materials, communicating with students, and serving as trainer/presenter.
4.  Develop and Coordinate marketing & recruitment activities for exchange programs in assigned regions through activities including but not limited to:

*   scheduling and organizing information and advising sessions
*   organizing promotional activities and events targeted to promote exchanges
*   creating exchange presence at SA Fair
*   working with Sr. IT Support Professional to maintain and improve online information for students participating in exchange programs and to develop innovative ways to improve recruitment of outgoing exchange students
*   working with academic units and departments as applicable to arrange class presentations or other contact in classes or in units about exchange programs, and coordinate those activities
*   using the interested students database
*   participate in campus activities, visit campus and students orgs, and develop relationships that will assist in marketing and recruitment of participants

1.  Manage participants’ records in filemaker pro database: Collect required documents from students and enter data as appropriate to track participants, to coordinate applications, and to keep records updated and accurate.  Follow up with students as appropriate to ensure that records are complete.
2.  Along with other Education Abroad staff, promote participation in GT international Programs by attending on-campus events, such as freshmen orientation and other campus sponsored events, and provide general advising to students before they have selected a program in which to participate.
3.  Visit partner institutions as necessary to foster strong relationships and facilitate exchanges.
4.  Attend and present at professional conferences to remain current in the field of international education and represent GIT.
5.  Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Education Abroad.

Basic requirements:

*   Required to have a Bachelor’s degree
*   Required to have three to four years of work experience
*   Required to have international experience (work/internship, study, or living outside of United States and its territories)
*   Required to have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with multiple audiences, both internal (e.g. OIE staff) and external (e.g. students, faculty)
*   Required to have flexibility and strong problem-solving skills

Preferred qualifications:

*   Preferred to have work experience in study abroad
*   Preferred to have experience working in a university environment
*   Preferred to have experience working collaboratively with faculty and administrators
*   Preferred to have proficiency in a foreign language
*   Preferred to have experience with Filemaker Pro.

Expected Start date: February 2016

The position is classified as Education Abroad Advisor, Grade A7, anticipated starting salary range is $40,800-$46,400, commensurate with experience.

CAPA The Global Education Network is seeking a high-performing Manager of Student Admissions (MSA) to drive and support the Student Admissions department. This team is responsible for the recruitment and enrollment for students applying for CAPA programs. This Boston-based position will be responsible for hiring, training and managing the team with a focus on achieving agreed upon sales targets. The MSA must be prepared to take on any role necessary during high-volume of student leads to ensure all students are contacted within a 24 hour period or receipt of their contact information.
This position will report to the Vice President of Institutional Relations & Admissions and responsibilities will include:

Management:
•       Develop and manage targeted recruitment strategies to determine the effective enrollment of specific programs, locations, and student interests in line with overall organizational goals.
•       Manage and support the Student Admissions Advisors’ recruitment efforts, including preparing and delivering product, systems, and sales strategy trainings, conducting weekly team meetings, and bi-weekly 1-to-1 meetings.
•       Hire, manage and train a growing team of Student Admissions Advisors to ensure all leads/prospects are contacted according to recruitment strategy.
•       Monitor new student contact trends and provide recommendations on new technology platforms that will help to engage students throughout the recruitment process.
•       Ensure regular communication between the Student Admissions Team and other departments within CAPA.
•       Identify issues regarding facility, technology, and staff and make recommendations for improvement to meet departmental goals.
•       Responsible for assigning inbound leads and applicants to members of the admissions team for immediate follow up.
•       Manage customer service and interdepartmental issues brought forth by team members.
•       Organize and manage accuracy of outgoing Salesforce CRM email communication templates.

Monitoring/Reporting:
•       Monitor all student contact targets to determine timely responses and efficiency. Determine advisor training and support.
•       Monitor team’s enrollment projections and provide weekly updates on progress to Vice President of Institutional Relations & Admissions.
•       Monitor advisor/student calls and email responses to ensure the CAPA brand/message is consistent and accurate information is being communicated.
•       Compile weekly reports of call activity including breakdowns by advisor and a general overview of email volume.
•       Maintain and continually monitor CAPA Student Admissions Twitter Account.
•       Provide weekly communication to the Institutional Relations Team about the student applicants from their regions so they can keep on-campus contacts up-to-date regarding the status of student applications and deadlines.
•       Work closely with the marketing team to provide feedback on recommendations for student-focused communication topics based on interaction with prospective students.

Advising:
•       Work with applicants in a limited, assigned advising region and serve as a role model for best practices in student recruitment and support.
•       Engage students who have applied to one of CAPA’s programs and maintain contact with them through the enrollment process.
•       Advise inquiries and applicants on program selection, answer program and in-country specific questions, and assist with questions concerning credit transfer, scholarships and financial aid.
•       Provide a high level of customer service support to students, answering any application and pre-departure questions and preparing them for their experience abroad.
•       Adhere to pre-set daily call/email volume targets for self and team members as well as student enrollment targets per term.
•       Some domestic travel may be required during high volume university recruitment drives.
•       Additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:
•       A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a sales team with high-volume phone and email contact targets
