(1) Campus Outreach and Communications Coordinator – Associated Colleges of the Midwest – Chicago, IL

Hiring for an entry-level Campus Outreach and Communications Coordinator at the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM), a consortium of 14 independent liberal arts colleges based in Chicago, IL. The primary focus of the position is to support off-campus study outreach efforts by managing related marketing and communications projects. The position is also responsible for data reporting and overseeing a small recruitment territory.

The ACM Campus Outreach and Communications Coordinator is a full-time position based in Chicago, IL. Moderate travel is required during particular months, when considerable time will be spent visiting college campuses, with work hours that will include early mornings, evenings, and some weekends. This position reports to the Associate Vice President for Strategic Outreach and Communications, and works closely with other outreach coordinators, as well as other consortial staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications:

Manages marketing and communications efforts for off-campus study programs.
Writes, develops, and distributes e-mail communications to various audiences at different phases of the application and enrollment process.
Maintains student/contact databases and updates mailing lists.
Creates and updates off-campus study content on the ACM website.
Assists with the development of off-campus study publications and promotional materials.
Produces various application and enrollment reports.
Compiles and analyzes trends and data — including off-campus study data, student surveys, and web analytics — in order to identify ways to improve the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
Monitors Google Analytics to report on and improve web structure and traffic.
Updates and manages off-campus study social media channels.
Coordinates off-campus study student blogs.
Collects, organizes, and distributes off-campus study photo and video content.
Conducts market research for current and proposed off-campus study programs.
Coordinates the hiring and management of Campus Ambassadors.
Collaborates with external vendors.

Outreach and recruitment:

Manages a select territory for off-campus study recruitment, identifying and encouraging prospective students to enroll in ACM programs and working to increase overall enrollment and yield rates.
Creates and coordinates a comprehensive campus outreach and travel schedule.
Coordinates the logistics of all related travel arrangements.
Organizes and carries out out visits to college campuses, which include activities such as attending study abroad fairs, hosting information sessions, visiting classes, setting up and staffing information tables, speaking with student organizations, distributing promotional materials, meeting with faculty and staff, and working with program alumni.
Supports and oversees the coordination of campus visits by other ACM faculty and staff.
Develops and maintains relationships with important campus constituencies, including faculty, staff, program alumni, and prospective students.
Completes follow-up activities and detailed reports after each campus visit.
Develops outreach strategies for future campus visits.
Manages student inquiries, including data entry, communication and follow-up, coordination of mailings, and campus communication regarding student applications.
Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree;
1-2 years professional or internship experience in communications, marketing, or a related field;
Relevant experience in higher education, such as participation in a college off-campus study program or work in admission/international education;
Excellent writing and editing skills;
Strong presentation and public speaking skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel and Word;
Strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail;
Excellent project management skills;
The ability to be a collaborative team player and also to work independently with self-direction;
The ability to multitask, be flexible, and quickly respond to change;
The availability and motivation to frequently travel to college campuses throughout the Midwest and the rest of the United States;
A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of liberal arts colleges;
Data reporting and analysis experience;
Web content management and HTML experience;
Social media and video/photo editing experience;
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, year-round position based in Chicago, IL. Salary is dependent on experience. The position includes an excellent benefits package and a flexible, stimulating environment.

Specific duties include oversight of college international education programs, development of new programs in collaboration with faculty and international partners, assessing education abroad activities, and serving as the college liaison to University Office of Global Programs. The Assistant Director will also oversee the International Science certificate program (INTSCI), allocate grant awards that support education abroad, and present to students via courses and outreach to student organizations. Reporting to the Director of Career and International Education, the Assistant Director will join and collaborate with a dynamic team of professionals focused on increasing undergraduate participation in diverse co-curricular activities, and will be active in advising and counseling students about these opportunities. Excellent candidates for this position will have substantial knowledge and experience in international education, program development and assessment, and mentoring undergraduates, together with outstanding communication skills and a commitment to inclusiveness of students of all backgrounds. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate’s competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Master’s degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. * Coordinate and facilitate pre-departure information and preparation, including visa and travel logistics

Required Qualifications Experience:
* Study Abroad experience, preferably in India, China, Indonesia, Mongolia, Nepal, Vietnam or Samoa.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

* International experience, preferably in an undergraduate study abroad program
* Ability to present programs in a professional manner

Desired Qualifications
* Alumni of SIT Study Abroad or International Honors Program (IHP), preferably with travel experience in India, Indonesia Mongolia, Nepal, Vietnam, Samoa, and/or China
* Proficiency in a foreign language relevant to India, Indonesia Mongolia, Nepal, Vietnam, Samoa  and/or China.
* Experience in college admissions or study abroad office
* Knowledge of Salesforce (CRM)
