Overview:
Administer University’s international students visa compliance program in accordance with US Department of Homeland Securit’s Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) regulations. Act as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) to obtain visa certificates and permits for foreign students. Advise foreign students on opportunities, rights and responsibilities under the law. Evaluate applications, and approve or deny extension of stay, transfer of schools, and enrollment adjustment. Conduct informational workshops for foreign students.
Qualifications/Required Education: Bachelor’s degree
Required Experience: Minimum 2 years relevant immigration regulations advisement and compliance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience teaching/training/presenting.
Preferred Experience: Experience with database management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of database management. Must be able to communicate detailed instructions clearly. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Fluency in foreign language and/or experience living abroad.
