2) GPA of at least 3.2
3) readiness to enter graduate school in fall 2010 for a two-year program.

There is a three-year service obligation.  We hope to give 20 fellowships in 2010.  The application deadline is January 22, 2010.

We accept undergraduate seniors and recent grads from colleges and universities  all over the United States.  We welcome applications from all students, no matter their undergraduate majors.  Successful candidates in the past have come from a wide range of disciplines, including International Relations, Political Science, Foreign Languages, English, Economics, Business, History, Anthropology, Engineering, and others.  Using our fellowship, fellows do their graduate work in programs in international affairs or a related field (e.g., public administration, public policy, business administration, foreign languages, economics, political science, communications) at U.S. universities nationwide.  The selection process is very competitive, so we are looking for students with strong academic backgrounds, an interest in international affairs and public service, and a record of community service.  Financial need is also considered.   The program encourages the application of members of minority groups and those with financial need.

The Rangel Program also offers an International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program for undergraduate students.  This six-week summer program at Howard University in Washington , DC is an excellent way for students who are interested in international affairs careers to explore career options while strengthening their related skills.  The program pays a stipend plus room, board, tuition and transportation for those selected.
