A very heartfelt video thank you from the people of Tohoku that includes a number of Taylor Anderson’s students.  According to Taylor’s father Andy, “the video was shown at the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York’s annual dinner on November 15 where Taylor received their Luminary Award.  Executive Director Karino had the video made for the event. The students who were being taught by Taylor at the time of the earthquake on 3/11 are in the video.  Taylor’s students are in front of The Taylor Anderson Reading Corner.  It’s very moving and reminds us all of how much is yet to be done for the area to recover.”

One of the most moving videos that has been made post-March 11th. Thank you for remembering Taylor and all of those that lost their lives or have been displaced. May we know the value of the JET Program and the importance of international exchange. Because of everyone around the world connected to Japan through a friend, family, or the JET Program, Japan will continue to recover as quickly as possible. We will always remember March 11th too.

I can’t watch this video without being overwhelmed with emotion. It’s really moving to see my friend and fellow JET be honored by the lives she was touched. As Terry said, this video shows the value of JET and international exchange, and may we never forget it. I give my thanks to Miyagi-ken for not only being my second home, but for inspiring me to be courageous even in the most trying times.
