Job Position: Technical Translator
Job Details:
Havok (http://www.havok.com) is currently recruiting for a Technical Translator/Localisation specialist to work in our Tokyo office. The role will involve working on technical documentation for our award winning physics engine software. We are looking for someone to understand the software, and translate from English to Japanese.
Role Objectives:
• Maintain the Japanese localized versions of Havok’s documentation for all products
• Keep Japanese versions of Havok documentation up to date during product development
• Contribute as a member of Havok’s world-recognised Development Team.
• Represent Havok as needed with customers providing translation and interpreting services as required
Key Responsibilities:
• Build the appropriate level of expertise required for the accurate translation of highly technical documentation.
• Help to develop and maintain in house localisation infrastructure.

• Become a key contributor to Havok’s Development Team.
• Deliver on assigned tasks and identify risks/roadblocks and provide solutions

Required Skills and Experience:
• An appropriate technical background or 3 to 5 years of experience translating technical documentation in a software field.
• Strong technical/colloquial Japanese and excellent English communication skills
• Solid interpretation skills
• Must be flexible with strong customer focus, time management, and communication skills
• Able to grasp complex technical concepts and principles quickly.
• Strong communication skills and a proven ability to work in a team environment
• Familiarity with software localization processes and practices.
