Overview
This position will require working in a fast-paced environment that touches upon multiple disciplines of business development. The associate will be coordinating with their manager to filter the information that is provided by our real estate partners and brokers. They will also be required to prepare reports, schedule meetings, plan business trips, communicate and negotiate with related jurisdictions and vendors to conduct all necessary duties and tasks associated with developing and constructing new stores.
Essential Duties:

- Archive and maintain Leases and legal documents pertaining to real estate

- Work cross functionally with inter-departments (Construction, Compliance, Mechanics, Accounting, etc.) during the store development process
- Acts as liaison between vendors, executive management and other managing partners to facilitate information flow and drive increased efficiencies
- Assist in all activities related to real estate/development, change orders, procurement, project updates, and scheduling
- Takes notes, creates minutes.

The Japan Information Center in Chicago is hiring three (3) part-time JET Program Interview Assistants for the upcoming JET Program interviews.
One assistant will work from mid-February through mid-March. Please note the working period may change based on the timing of the interviews. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with JET Interviews (tentatively, February 8 – 12), but other responsibilities pertaining to the JET Program and JIC activities will also be assigned.
The pay is $17 an hour. The work schedule is somewhat flexible; however, during the JET Interview Week, you must work full days. This position will be primarily in-person at the Japan Information Center, however some remote work days may occur, as well. Applicants must live in the Chicagoland area and be able to commute to the Consulate in downtown Chicago.

American Councils for International Education is currently hiring 2022 summer Resident Director for Japanese immersion program of the Critical Language Scholarship Program (CLS Program, see www.clscholarship.org for more information about the program).
Resident Directors are the first-level of support for CLS students for the duration of the program. The Resident Director supports student success by ensuring the health and safety of the participants, helping them to maintain a Japanese-only language policy, and helping to acclimate them to life in Japan.
The Resident Director position is a non-teaching position but requires a high level of Japanese language. The approximate dates of the program are June to August; Resident Directors also attend a three-day training in May.
