Description:

A Japanese Trading company is currently looking for a Japanese Bilingual Production Engineer to join their Madison AL team. The role is responsible for supporting the safe and reliable operation of production equipment, as well as equipment renewal, modification, and new installation projects. 

The Production Engineer I works closely with equipment suppliers, plant personnel, and contractors to troubleshoot issues, drive continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives, support quality and production readiness activities, and evaluate new technologies for manufacturing operations. 

The candidates hired for this opportunity will get an opportunity to work abroad in Japan for up to half a year for training purposes. DOE and skills the pay for this position would be between the 65k-70k mark with amazon benefits. 

Your essential duties would be as follows: 

  • Support equipment renewal, modification, and new installation projects through engineering coordination and project progress management
  • Coordinate and communicate with equipment suppliers, plant personnel, and contractors to ensure successful project execution
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production equipment issues
  • Support production preparation activities, design reviews, and quality verification processes
  • Participate in manufacturing process and equipment improvement (Kaizen) initiatives
  • Research and evaluate new technologies for implementation in manufacturing operations
  • Support plant maintenance activities and other related operational initiatives.

Please consider the following qualifications when applying:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive in the United States
  • Internship, co-op, or professional experience in manufacturing engineering, production engineering, or industrial/manufacturing project management is preferred
  • Experience with PLC, HMI, robotics, and factory automation (FA) programming and troubleshooting is preferred
  • Experience using AutoCAD is preferred
  • Hands-on mechanical and/or electrical experience is preferred
  • Project management experience is preferred
  • Native-level Japanese proficiency or JLPT N1 certification (required)
