FTI Consulting, Inc. is a global business advisory firm dedicated to helping organisations protect and enhance enterprise value in an increasingly complex legal, regulatory and economic environment. As part of our Global Risk & Investigations Practice, you will join a team conducting sophisticated investigations, uncovering actionable intelligence and performing value-added analysis to help decision-makers address and mitigate risk, protect assets, remediate compliance, make informed decisions and maximize opportunities. You will be based in our Tokyo office and report to the Managing Director in Tokyo.
Our team conducts independent investigations to help clients resolve a variety of issues, including:
  • Corporate Investigations
  • Whistleblower allegations
  • Fraud and complex financial investigations
  • Anti-bribery and corruption (FCPA/U.K. Bribery Act) investigations and risk assessments
  • Political risk assessments
  • Due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and cross-border transactions

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in coordinating investigations ranging from investigative due diligence and business intelligence to political risk analyses, often working with multi-jurisdictional teams across different countries
  • Investigative research, collation and analysis of information to support projects, evaluating significant amounts of information from numerous sources for accuracy and relevance
  • Creation of project reports in English and assisting in client liaison in English and Japanese
  • Preparation of business development materials including articles and presentations

Key Requirements:

  • Fluent English speaker with ability in Japanese
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with formal business English proficiency. The ideal candidate will have a flair for writing and be able to produce high-quality projects under pressure.
  • A keen interest in business intelligence and investigative research, with ideally 1-3 years’ research background.
  • Demonstrated proactive and resourceful self-starter with experience in fast-paced and dynamic settings.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to draw concise, evidence-based conclusions from research and investigations conducted.
