Overview:

The Division of Academic Affairs at Towson University seeks an Advisor for the Study Abroad Office. The advisor is responsible for promoting credit-bearing study abroad programs to students and faculty, advising and supporting students prior to, during and after their study abroad experience, and administering select TU study abroad programs.

Responsibilities include recruiting and advising students; administering TU programs and exchanges in designated world regions; maintaining student records utilizing the Horizons web-based management system; developing and facilitating select short-term TU faculty-led programs; managing the TU Study Abroad Scholarship process; designing and delivering pre-departure and re-entry programming for students; communicating with administrative and academic departments across campus; liaising with international partner institutions and third party providers; and helping to promote study abroad on and off campus.

Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree plus two years related work experience and time spent studying and/or working abroad. Familiarity with international program administration, excellent communication, writing, and computer skills. Master’s degree in international education or related field and knowledge of one or more foreign languages strongly preferred. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.

Salary: 

$36,000 – $39,000 depending on experience. Full university benefits that include excellent health, life insurance, and retirement plans; tuition remission; and 22 days of annual leave, up to 14 holidays, personal and sick days.
