Overview:
The Development Year-End Seasonal is a full-time, temporary position (until January; end date to be determined) that supports the administrative functions of the Development Department, focusing on gift processing and acknowledging as well as data entry. The Department raises nearly $3M annually from individuals, foundations and corporations through direct mail, online, major and planned gifts, and telemarketing programs, with a large portion of that revenue received in the last part of the calendar year.

Responsibilities may include any of the following, as required:
•Process and acknowledge gifts, including credit card and online donation processing, gift entry into the Raiser’s Edge database, and executing acknowledgment letters and receipts.
•Update donor records in the Raiser’s Edge database and maintain paper files.
•Perform data clean-up projects in Raiser’s Edge and Convio, including merging duplicate records.
•Expedite mailings including donor appeals and other communications.
•Perform donor research on high net worth individuals, corporations and foundations, utilizing online research tools, and write concise biographical summaries.
•Provide other administrative support, as assigned, including answering phone, responding to correspondence, and filing.

Required experience, knowledge and skills:
•Prior administrative experience in a not-for-profit professional development environment.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and fundraising databases required (Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred).
•Demonstrated ability to prioritize work requests and complete assignments on time and manage the completion of multiple projects, often with shifting priorities, while working under direct supervision or independently.
•Excellent written and oral communication skills.
•Professionalism and propriety to interact properly and effectively with staff, VIPs, major donors, Board members, volunteers, and the general public.
•Ability to maintain confidential records and information.
