Job Position: Digital Video Publisher – Japanese Language Specialization (Los Angeles)

Job Details:

Could you tolerate 5 hours of the genjutsu technique of Tsukuyomi? Have you seen every episode of Dragonball Z, Naruto, or Cowboy Bebop? Or do you reminisce about the classics such as Voltron, Speed Racer, or Gundam? Do you own all of Hayao Miyazaki’s masterpieces?

If you’re an eagle-eyed videophile who will not settle for anything less than perfect, then we may have an opportunity for you. We’re looking for someone to own the publishing process of our expanding Anime library. Strong written and editorial skills in both English and Japanese language is required and knowledge of digital video platforms preferred.

As a Digital Video Publisher with an Anime Specialization, you will champion quality by maintaining an atypically high – and consistent – quality bar for online anime video and its metadata in line with Hulu’s mission to deliver premium video content.

Responsibilities

•Ensure the receipt of scheduled video content from Content Partners
•Screen and provide Quality Assurance of videos
•Proofread, edit, research, and enhance video metadata in English and Japanese
•Ensure timely publishing of videos assets under strict schedules and deadlines
•Maintain style conventions and accuracy of metadata on the site
•Communicate internally on content status with other Video Publishers and Content Partner Managers
•Report encountered Quality Assurance, Publishing and Content issues
•Maintain strong knowledge of breadth of Japanese content on the site
•Proactively learn updated tools and programs

Qualifications

•Fluency (both written and oral) in Japanese and English. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of management
•A minimum of 1-2 years digital video experience
•Knowledge of digital video workflows, mainstream video editing tools, and web technologies
•Obsessive attention to detail
•Willingness to work flexible hours in order to meet occasional deadlines
•Ability to prioritize, track and resolve issues concurrently
•Ability to constantly learn new and improved tools and programs
