    Hi Steven,

I noticed that you didn’t have Top New York listed as a recruiting firm.
I have their main website as http://www.top-us.com.

Out of the three staffing agencies I’ve contacted, Top New York has found me the most job openings. So far they have informed me of openings for a research position, administrative assistant, and executive assistant. I previously worked in translation and technical writing. While these positions don’t necessarily reflect that direct experience, they do build on my language skills and cultural experience. And when I visited the office, I met with many of the recruiters who all offered career suggestions for my next move, such as writing a Japanese cover letter, interview tips, and info on other career fields.

I hope other job seekers find them useful.

    Steven,
Props to you for developing a truly creative, informative, and interest-bearing site of wit and wonder for the jet setter.

    Kudos

Hi! I don’t know if this really is the right area to be posting this, but here goes.

I am making a website where JETs can post sights, restaurants, onsen, and festivals from their towns that they live/lived in while in Japan. The thought is to make a travel guide for foreigners in Japan that:
    1. Is written in English
    2. Has lots of pictures of each sight
    3. Navigation is based on towns/cities rather than showing off the prefecture’s best sights.

Basically a sight that will be a useful guide for new JETs, but to do this I need JETs (Former and Current) to upload information and pictures to the website. If you would be interested in helping me spread the word about it, I would very much appreciate it!

    The site is

    http://www.theinaka.com/

    Thanks

    Chris

    PS

Currently Oita is the best example, but we have 18 prefectures with at least one sight uploaded to them. Check out Oita and let me know what you think!
