The National Autistic Society is the leading UK charity for people with autism. Anderson School is a small autistic school in North Bristol, looking for a freelance Japanese teacher for one-to-one tuition for a 14 year old pupil studying for GCSE Japanese. We are looking for someone who can teach Japanese in a structured but engaging way, for 2 hours per week, ideally from 1pm to 3pm on Wednesdays though there may be some flexibility for the right candidate. Strong ICT skills
Ability to differentiate lessons to a variety of learning styles and ability levels
High level of time management skills
Ability to maintain appropriate standard of discipline in classroom

Queenswood is a progressive boarding and day school for around 430 girls, aged between 11 and 18, where boarders make up more than half of the School. An all round education focuses on equipping the girls with all the life skills required of women in the 21st century. Within a caring and supportive framework, the girls enjoy a dynamic academic curriculum, supported by a diverse and exciting co-curricular program.

We are looking for someone who can teach Japanese either full-time or part-time across all year groups up to and including Advanced Level dependent on experience and qualifications. Class size in Japanese lessons at Queenswood usually ranges between 5-10 students per year group. Currently there are 4 girls in Year 8, 10 girls in Year 9 and 5 girls in Year 10. As for the exam groups, there are currently 10 girls studying Japanese in Year 11 (4 of whom are following the Short Course), 5 girls in the L6 and one pupil in the U6 who is also applying to study Japanese at degree level.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic, experienced teacher of Japanese and ideally qualified, capable of enthusing students and maintaining the successful profile of the Japanese department. He or she will have the ability to administer the GCSE Japanese Speaking Paper and should be keen to provide additional speaking practice outside the standard timetable in the lead up to the examination period. Candidates will possess a wider understanding and passion for Japanese culture and the language. For full-time applicants, an ability to deliver lessons that meet the standards and course requirements defined by the A level specification is paramount. Queenswood is primarily a boarding school but we welcome day boarders as well. The successful applicant would be prepared to take on additional responsibilities and duties beyond their classroom role and to take a full part in the life of the school.

The event will be on 9th December at Swedenborg Hall, 20-21 Bloomsbury Way, London, WC1A 2TH (Closest Underground: Holborn).

The 30 years anniversary of the JET Programme will be celebrated in 2016, and with an increasing focus on post JET links in business and citizens diplomacy this event will explain how JETs use their experience for work, with speeches from companies who employ people who have been on the JET Programme, as well as former JETs employed by them. The position is for a sales consultant. We are looking for people who are ambitious and have high energy. The office is located in Ginza and currently has 12 staff members. Everything is done in English, but having the ability to communicate in Japanese is a plus.

The first year is all training, so you make 250,000 yen a month (around 3 million yen in your first year) with small commissions as well. You usually work between 10-14 hours a day (depending how quickly you want to advance in the field). You will be watching numerous videos, have 1 on 1 training, and take around 100-150 phone calls a day. The second year, the average salary for their employees is 5-6 million yen a year. The third year is 7-8 million and the fourth year is 10-15 million.
