Recommendations for intensive Japanese language programs in Tokyo?

JET alum Jordan Heiber (Fukui-ken, 2000-02) is looking for info/recommendations for intensive Japanese Language Programs in Tokyo — similar to the one offered by Keio University. Requirements would be:

1) year long course

2) qualifies the participant for a student visa for the year

3) ideally close in proximity to Minato Ku

Jordan notes: “The Internet is overflowing with less-than-useful information on this, so I’m hoping some of you may have some insider’s knowledge. Thanks.”

delaware_detail-779919 I stopped by the CLAIR-NY office yesterday (which is the de facto JETAA NY headquarters), and was asked by Taichi Hanzawa (one of the JETAA USA & Canada Liaisons) if I know of any JET alums in Delaware.

I know we have an increasingly active JETAA Philadelphia sub-chapter. But I don’t know of any JET alums by name who live in Delaware.

“The Harimaya Bridge” now available on DVD in Japan

HarimayaJapanese Just heard from Aaron Woolfolk (Kochi-ken, 1991-93), writer and director of the film The Harimaya Bridge (starring Ben Guillory, Saki Takaoka, Misa Shimizu, and Danny Glover, who is also the Executive Producer), that the film is now available on DVD in Japan.

JetWit would love to have a copy of the DVD for JETAA NY purposes, so if you’re in Japan and can get a hold of a The Harimaya Bridge DVD, let me know. (jetwit [/at/] jetwit [/dot/] com.)

Meanwhile, the Aaron has continued showing The Harimaya Bridge at film festivals around the U.S. and reports that the film is due out in theaters in the U.S. in the spring.
