TV-Asahi America Inc, Los Angeles Bureau seeks Bilingual (English & Japanese) News Producer for Japanese viewers. Entry level candidates are very welcome!

TV-Asahi is the nationwide news network company in Japan, collaborating with AP, Reuter and CNN.
Our headquarter is located in Tokyo and in the United States, TV-Asahi America Inc which is the overseas affiliate of TV-Asahi, operates three bureaus, Los Angeles, New York, Washington DC.

Expected duties as TV Producer include, but are not limited to the following:

– Perform variety of TV program production including making necessary research, logistics, filming, online editing, and communicating/negotiating with both inside and outside of the
company
– Research with an interesting and unique perspective through team discussions
– Persistent negotiations with interview subjects
– Safety driving while coverage
– Translate news from English to Japanese/ Japanese to English
– Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by Management

Requirement
– Passion for Journalism, TV production
– Great interest/enthusiasm towards, and general knowledge concerning current news (US national news, local news, cultural trends, US politics, news events related to Japan, US and
East Asia, Japanese national news)
– Willingness of field work and business trips
– Positive attitude toward team-working
– English and Japanese communication skills in speaking
– Spanish and editing skills, basic knowledge of history and cultural anthropology are a plus

Although this position is a specialized field, we place more emphasis on a candidate’s enthusiasm than on experience, so we look forward to hearing from those interested in news.
