Job Summary
Ykk Corporation of America is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Financial Manager. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our financial operations, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective risk management. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Japanese and possess strong project management and intercompany communication skills. This position requires a proactive individual who can hold team members accountable and collaborate effectively with global cross-functional teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for GRC financial management and performance in the Americas Region including but not limited to accounting, tax, finance, treasury, and other related financial activities.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between YKK Corporation of America and YKK Corporation of Japan Group Finance, Tax, Consolidations and other financial departments.
  • Collaborate closely with the CFO and stakeholders to provide guidance and improvement on compliance matters including regulatory changes and best practices.
  • Enforce financial compliance policies and procedures aligned with regional and global regulatory standards, ensuring consistency and adherence to company policies.
  • Identify GRC risks and opportunities within the Americas Region and execute improvements.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities (cont.)
  • Prepare and present compliance reports and updates to CFO and key stakeholders.
  • Strengthen GRC balance sheet management for the Americas Region.
  • Improve financial reporting accuracy and timeliness to align with Japan deadlines and requests.
  • Coordinate with local leaders to facilitate service provider timelines and accountability.
  • Facilitate request for proposals (RFPs) to support local services provider needs.
  • Implement automation and/or tools to improve the financial review and detection process.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Fluency in both English and Japanese (spoken and written) is essential with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across different regions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in financial management, with a focus on governance, risk, and compliance or 3+ years of experience in public accounting.
  • Expertise in JGAAP, US GAAP and IFRS; other local country tax matters a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and develop practical compliance solutions.
  • Strong project management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to hold team members accountable.
  • Experience working in multinational organizations or with cross-cultural teams is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (i.e. SAP, STRAVIS, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
