This position comes from one of our partner universities, Showa Women’s University.
Job Description
The first-year required courses focus on two integrated skills (Speaking and Listening) and use common textbooks; the second-year required course focuses on two integrated skills (Speaking and Listening) and uses authentic materials related to the academic topics; the third-year required courses focus on two integrated skills (Reading and Writing or Speaking and Listening) and use authentic materials. All of the required courses use common syllabuses.
Teaching Days:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (Spring and Fall Semesters)
1st period: 9:00-10:30, 2nd period: 10:40-12:10, 3rd period 13:10-14:40,
4th period 14:50-16:20, 5th period 16:30-18:00
Starting date: April 1st, 2024

Qualifications
- Education and Degree Requirements: Ph.D. / Doctor / Master
- All the following qualifications and conditions must be satisfied:
- The candidate should acknowledge the founding principles of Showa Women’s University and be willing to teach in accordance with the school’s goals.
- Native-level English
- Master’s Degree or above in TESOL, TEFL, Linguistics, or a related field
- Experience teaching EFL/ESL classes at the university/post-secondary level
- Japanese ability sufficient for handling university-related administrative matters
Compensation: Wage per class Amount : 25000 yen ~ 35000 yen; According to university regulations. (Showed to final candidates after interview)
The above amount is the monthly unit price per class, and is the amount paid evenly over 6 months if one person teaches 15 classes per semester.
Transportation expenses : Actual expenses (up to 50,000 yen per month)
Contract period:
Nontenured – Non-tenure track
1-year (renewable)
Probationary period absent
