Job Position: Sales Rep for Japanese Food Company (Boston)

Job Details:

Your Role with the Company:

  • As a Sales Representative of this Japanese Food Wholesale/Trading Company, you will be in charge of first managing existing customers to promote food and kitchen tools merchandise and follow up with them by visiting them often and communicating with them by phone and email.
  • Will be the point of contact for the customers about the company’s services and products. In order to build a good and trusting relationship with customers, you may help them with merchandise restocking or conducting promotion events of certain products.
  • You will be covering Chinese and Japanese market in Boston Area.
  • Customers include restaurants, and grocery stores.
  • Marketing research will be included in the job to analyze the market trend in the area.
  • Gradually your responsibility will be increased and engaged in developing new clients by attending trade shows and referrals from existing customers.
  • Make sure all payments are received in a timely manner to avoid late payment.
  • You will be driving quite a lot to visit customers with samples.
  • You need to use your own car as the company cannot provide a company car, however, gas charge will be reimbursed by mileage.
  • Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited 4 year college preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin(native level fluency) both verbally and in writing.
  • Japanese language skills preferred but not a must.
  • Passion in sales and strong interest and familiarity with Japanese food
  • Good communication skills and customer service skills
  • Driver’s license and a car
  • Basic PC skills

    *Starting salary : 35K~40K + incentive

    Business description:
    Import, manufacture, and distribute over 5,000 Japanese foods, beverages, restaurant equipment and supplies.
    Having been involved in US domestic production of rice, Sake, Miso (fermented soy bean paste), Shoyu (soy sauce), Udon noodle, Soba noodle and other products.
    Also exports American products to Japan.
    This company Appreciates it’s employees – Medical, dental, vision insurance – premium will be covered 100% by company for both employee and dependents, 401K with company matching(1% of base salary), Profit sharing.
    8 paid holidays to accommodate their customer’s needs but 2 personal days will be given to compensate the standard number of paid holidays in US, Birthday day off(paid).
    Unfortunately, no paid vacation days for the first year, but 5 days for the second year, 6 days in the third year, and so on.
