Job Position: Coordinator for Public Relations
Job Details:
The Japan Information and Cultural Centre (JICC), Embassy of Japan, is seeking applicants for the position of Coordinator for Public Relations.
Main duties:
-Developing the Embassy’s Public Relations Strategy
-Managing the Embassy’s website and monthly web-magazine
-Planning and running the Embassy’s cultural exchange programme for young people
-Assisting with the Embassy’s various events
-Handling general administrative and supportive duties for the activities of the JICC
Essential skills and experience:
-Fluent in English with a high level of both written and spoken Japanese (JLPT level 2 or above, or equivalent)
-Good communication and organizational skills
-A good understanding of Japan and an interest in promoting Japan in the UK
-Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
Desirable skills and experience:
-An ability to propose own concrete ideas for promoting Japan
-Experience in and evidence of constructing/managing websites (preferably in Dreamweaver)
-Competency in HTML and CSS
-Proficiency in the use of image manipulation software (such as Fireworks or Photoshop)
-Experience with and an interest in social media (especially Twitter, Facebook and Flickr)
