Job Position: Japanese-fluent Webcast Video Developer
Job Details:
The Webcast Video Developer is responsible for the production of highly engaging online webcast video training for Thomson Reuters Knowledge Network clients.
The Webcast Video Developer will design and produce online video-based training programs seen by tens-of-thousands of Knowledge Network clients around the globe. Must be comfortable in both a studio control room environment as well as shooting both indoors and outdoors.
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Deliver world-class, next generation webcast training programs as a camera-person, editor & control room switcher
Manage electronic recordings and other assets to be used in online programs
Work with the eLearning Development team to build relevant video components for use in self-paced modules
Manage projects from start to finish and collaborate with different areas of Client Training and the overall business
Maintain high awareness of financial markets news events and translate those into relevant training offerings for clients
Obtain and maintain mastery of relevant Thomson Reuters Markets software applications
Drive the production and post-production of video segments; merging audio, graphic and video content through applications like Apple Final Cut Studio
Coach subject matter experts to ensure successful appearances on set

Required Skills:
Superlative video production skills, and the ability to satisfy all production requirements and studio management requirements.
Deep knowledge and experience with video pre-production techniques and technology, including video cameras, audio technology, lighting, studio design, switching.
Strong expertise with post-production technology and techniques, including but not limited to Final Cut Pro (Macintosh), the Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
Significant, demonstrable chroma key shooting and editing experience.
Fundamental understanding of online video dissemination platforms and network requirements.
Ability to speak & edit in Japanese
A demo reel and/or reviewable portfolio of previous on-screen work.
Ability to work independently, handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines.
Exceptional ability to network, build internal relationships, serve as an ambassador for the Thomson Reuters brand.
Fundamental technical understanding and appreciation of the financial markets
Desired Skills:
3 to 5 years of professional working experience as both a studio and field camera person and editor. Strong design sense. A critical, artistic eye for color, sound, motion, etc.
Skill with other, industry-standard eLearning software: Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia Flash, SnagIt, WebEx, Adobe Connect, etc.
Any other training-related experience such as corporate classroom training. A successful applicant for this role will have produced or developed hundreds of hours of video-based media. Great preference would be to have that material relevant to the financial markets and potentially to the training of software applications. Experience in a news environment would be helpful and any experience related to studio and technical configuration for video would be of great utility.
This position is based in New York. Some travel required both domestic and international for attending meetings and classes – up to 10%.
