The Saitama Prefecture International Division currently has a job opening for a translator/interpreter and is hoping to find a native English speaker to fill it. The details are as follows:
The Saitama Prefecture International Division in Saitama City is currently searching for a part-time English-to-Japanese translator and interpreter.
Responsibilities include:
· Editing and translation of English publications
· Creation and editing of English web pages
· Assist with projects to support foreign residents
· Native English checks of translated materials
Other qualifications include:
· Japanese ability equivalent to Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test
· Knowledge of computers (Word, Excel, etc.)
· Native English ability is highly desirable
The contract period for employment begins immediately and continues through March 31, 2010. The successful applicant will work three days a week (excepting Saturdays and Sundays) for a total of 20.4 hours a week, though a change may be possible. Remuneration includes a monthly salary of 112,000 yen as well as paid holidays and reimbursement of commuting costs according to prefectural regulations. Social Insurance is not provided.
