Friends – We are looking for a new Sponsor and Membership Director because Alashia Wartelle (who has done a wonderful job for us) left recently to have her first baby. Mother and daughter Lilly are doing fine J. She is not planning on coming back to work right away…..thus an opportunity for someone.

Job Description

The Northwest Marine Trade Association is looking for a proven sales and marketing professional to sell and manage sponsorships for the association as well as recruiting and renewing members.  Join our staff of eight that produces the Seattle Boat Show (the largest boat show on the West Coast) promotes boating year round and protects the interests of our 800 members.  The right person will be an experienced sales person who also appreciates the importance of detailed follow-through in a small team environment.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years experience in sales and event or association marketing

• Strong computer skills – MS Word, Excel and Access database a plus
• Ability to speak effectively with excellent organization, planning and written communication skills.
• Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.

• Bachelors degree with an emphasis in Business, Marketing or Communications.

• Interest in boating is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Meet annual goals for recruitment of new sponsors and retention of existing sponsors.
• Meet annual goals for recruitment of new members and retention of current members.
• Prepare sponsorship agreements, oversee fulfillment, and prepare fulfillment reports.
• Oversee implementation of member benefits and identify new benefits.
• Track member satisfaction levels and monitor for necessary adjustments.
• Communicate with member by mail, email, newsletter, phone, mailings, etc.
• Be an integral part in executing events including boat shows, boating events, and association events.
