Job Description:
The Program Coordinator in conjunction with appropriate College and campus officials, develops and implements a comprehensive marketing plan for branding Miami Dade College and recruiting international students. This individual works closely with the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs, Associate Provost for Student Affairs, Student Deans, New Student Center Directors, Director of Financial Aid, International Student Advisors, and others as necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities:
·Prepares annual budget;
·Designs promotional materials in collaboration with MDC Media Relations/Publications office;
·Develops/maintains Web site for recruiting and exchange visitor programs;
·Develops a communication plan for prospective international students and coordinates the plan’s implementation by the International Student Advisors;
·Coordinates travel to target countries and conducts passive recruitment with key countries not visited;
·Maintains relations with key Dept. of State Overseas Advising Centers and Regional Educational Advising Consultants;
·Develops/maintains contacts with key Consulates and Trade Centers in Miami as well as Embassies in Washington DC;
·Works with MDC Alumni Association to build recruiting network abroad;
·Assists the campuses with development and implementation of orientation and retention activities;
·Evaluates results of recruitment efforts and prepares annual reports for the Dept. of State on MDC Exchange Visitor Programs;
·Works with the College Registrar and Institutional Research to monitor applications and matriculations of international students;
·Coordinates MDC Exchange Visitor Programs (J-1 visa) for students, professors, short-term scholars and specialists;
·Serves as liaison with Dept. of State Office of Exchange Visitor Programs and SEVIS for J-1 visa program;
·Oversees issue, control and tracking of DS 2019 forms for Exchange Visitors after verifying their eligibility for and acceptance into the program; and
·Performs other such duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
·Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Education, Psychology, or other appropriate field from a regionally accredited institution and six (6) years’ experience, with at least three (3) years’ experience in marketing, especially as it relates to higher education institutions, recruiting/advising international students and/or coordinating exchange programs; or a Master’s degree in relevant field from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years’ experience in relevant field strongly preferred.
·The ideal candidate will bring a marketing-centered approach to the task of branding Miami Dade College for recruiting international students.
·Proficiency in one or more foreign languages;
·Possess knowledge of U.S. higher education;
·Possess knowledge of educational systems in other countries;
·Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
·Knowledge and experience with SEVIS welcomed;
·Possess excellent communication skills (Oral and Written);
·Ability to communicate and work effectively in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment;
·Must have demonstrated organizational and highly effective interpersonal skills;
·Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends;
·Ability and willingness to travel abroad are essential to the position; and
·This function/position has been designated as Essential. This means that when the College is faced with an institutional emergency, employees in such positions may be required to remain at their work location or to report to work to protect, recover and continue operations at the College.
