Please note that the Consulate is unable to provide visa support for prospective employees, and as such all applicants are required to have the appropriate legal permission to work in the United States.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong> Duties include, but are not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Researching and informing the Consuls on current issues and events;<\/li>\n<li>Drafting and editing speeches and letters;<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating and managing several annual projects;<\/li>\n<li>Scheduling meetings and appointments;<\/li>\n<li>Responding to public inquiries;<\/li>\n<li>Handling various administrative and clerical tasks; and<\/li>\n<li>Occasionally translating emails or documents from Japanese to English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong> Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A candidate should possess the following qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professional manner<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and <span id=\"lw_1256223557_4\">written communication skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong internet based research abilities<\/li>\n<li>Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with e-mail and Internet<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with Japanese culture and values<\/li>\n<li>Japanese conversational skills preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong> Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This position involves a good deal of clerical duties with room for individual initiative.
