Work with students<br \/>\n-Advise students on study abroad opportunities and the procedures\u00a0involved to study abroad.<br \/>\n-Ensure compliance with best practices for study abroad.<br \/>\n-Develop and deliver study abroad information, orientation, including\u00a0health and safety information, and re-entry sessions.<br \/>\n-Advise Returnee Network and inBUS, student organizations for returning\u00a0study abroad students<br \/>\n-Maintain communication with study abroad students while abroad to\u00a0notify of university deadlines, scholarship deadlines, and address\u00a0issues regarding culture shock, health and safety, etc.<br \/>\n-Assist Director in work with returnees to evaluate programs, obtain\u00a0feedback on programs and experiences for future students, ease\u00a0transition and promote study abroad.<br \/>\n-Coordinate applications, interviews and selection of students for\u00a0Loyola exchange programs.<br \/>\n-Help students with financial aid and scholarship applications, e.g.\u00a0Freeman Asia, Gilman, Fulbright, NSEP, and IFSA Foundation and other\u00a0study abroad scholarships.<br \/>\n-Serve as alternate emergency contact for summer programs.<br \/>\n-Monitor CDC and State Department Travel Warnings to ensure that\u00a0students and faculty directors are aware of relevant information.<!--more-->***<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Promotion and Marketing<\/strong><br \/>\n-Promote study abroad opportunities to the Loyola community<br \/>\n-Recruit a diverse population for study abroad.<br \/>\n-Work with colleges and departments to identify appropriate study\u00a0abroad programs for specific majors.<br \/>\n-Give presentations to classes, student organizations, residence halls\u00a0and honor societies.<br \/>\n-Coordinate advertising, promotion and selection for exchange programs\u00a0and ISEP.<br \/>\n-Represent the Center for International Education at campus recruitment\u00a0fairs for prospective students and orientation programs for incoming\u00a0Loyola students.<br \/>\n-Organize the annual study abroad fair.<br \/>\n-Maintain CIE study abroad website and works with faculty directors to\u00a0ensure that websites are appropriately updated.<br \/>\n-Develop and maintain website for parents of study abroad students.<br \/>\n-Work with faculty directors to update study abroad brochures and\u00a0publications, i.e. AJCU, IIE and Peterson&#8217;s and websites.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Program Development<br \/>\n<\/strong>-Work with Director to develop and identify new programs and locations\u00a0and to establish agreements between Loyola and other institutions\u00a0abroad.<br \/>\n-Develop and maintain on-line orientation and re-entry program.<br \/>\n-Work with Director to develop a required reflection component for all\u00a0study abroad students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Administration<\/strong><br \/>\n-Work with director to train faculty directors regarding health and\u00a0safety issues.<br \/>\n-Coordinate the application and registration process for study abroad\u00a0students.<br \/>\n-Select, train and supervise Study Abroad Peer Advisors.<br \/>\n-Build and maintain database of programs and course transfer\u00a0equivalencies.<br \/>\n-Maintain resource center for study, work, research and travel outside\u00a0the U.S.<br \/>\n-Oversee the maintenance of student records related to study abroad\u00a0including application materials and related information.<br \/>\n-Complete study abroad statistical reports.<br \/>\n-Update study abroad procedures for university.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><br \/>\n-Master&#8217;s degree required or a bachelor&#8217;s degree with a minimum of 2-3\u00a0years of experience in study abroad advising or international\u00a0educational exchanges.<br \/>\n-Previous experience in study abroad advising or international\u00a0educational exchanges preferred.<br \/>\n-Minimum of one semester study abroad experience required.<br \/>\n-Strong computer skills (word processing, database, spreadsheet,\u00a0desktop publishing.)<br \/>\n-Strong language skills, both oral and written.<br \/>\n-Demonstrated sensitivity to cultural differences.<br \/>\n-Demonstrated ability to work with detail and perform duties without\u00a0close supervision.<br \/>\n-Ability to make mature and professional decisions even in the absence\u00a0of policy.
