Its mission is to increase students\u2019 English proficiency, to develop their cross-cultural awareness, and to foster their personal growth. The 40-acre campus rests on a hilltop overlooking the Boston skyline. At the heart of the campus are administrative offices, residences, a dining hall, and educational facilities.<br><br><strong>POSITION SUMMARY<\/strong>: The Residential Community Coordinator (RCC) resides on campus and supports the Resident Services with a Japanese female student study-abroad program. Acting as mentor, conversation partner, and cultural guide, you will facilitate student engagement, academic support, and cultural immersion. This role includes participation in an emergency on-call rotation.<br><br><strong>COMPENSATION:<\/strong> $17.51\/hr for 20 hours per week including weekends and evenings.<br><br>Included with compensation are room and board for the entirety of the one year contract. Rooms may be single rooms in a residential wing with free parking. The meals are provided when the campus is open. Professional development opportunities based on the candidates\u2019 interest.<br><br><strong>START DATE<\/strong>: August 17, 2026 (with move-in date between August 9-16, 2026)<br><br>Programming &amp; Community Development (9 hrs\/week):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plan and execute diverse events such as social gatherings and educational workshops to enrich student life<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with student organizations and faculty to align events with campus goals and promote interdisciplinary interactions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Utilize various communication channels to publicize events and encourage student participation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coordinate with Wing Leaders and the Resident Services Coordinator to develop leadership and community among residents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Address residential community issues and promote engagement in wing activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Essential Job Functions (9 hrs\/week):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support student orientations and community building initiatives within residence halls.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist in organizing extracurricular activities and off-campus trips.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide academic and social support through dining and informal interactions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Offer operational assistance to Student Services and respond to residential concerns.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other duties as assigned<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in on-call responsibilities and emergency responses as needed (2 hrs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage the on-call phone and respond to emergency calls from Security<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Document the time and what transpired during the calls<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Update supervisor on any major issues or concerns that occur<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SKILLS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Self-starter while working well in a strong team environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cultural competency and the ability to communicate effectively in a culturally sensitive manner to support international students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to deal tactfully with others and exercise good judgment in appraising situations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain effective and positive working relationships with all staff, teachers, and students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Currently enrolled in Boston area undergraduate or graduate program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must show proof of enrollment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to complete a one-year contract with the possibility of renewal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previous leadership experience preferred<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience living within a community environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to live on campus during the entire year of the contract<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with the Boston-area<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficiency in MS Office applications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge and\/or experience with the Japanese language and culture preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application Process: <\/strong>Email cover letter and resume to &lt;ssd[at]showaboston[dot]edu&gt;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Posted by&nbsp;Sydney Sparrow.&nbsp;Click here&nbsp;to join&nbsp;the&nbsp;JETwit Jobs Google Group&nbsp;and receive job listings&nbsp;even sooner&nbsp;by email.
