The JET Program Office at the Embassy of Japan is seeking Processing Staff for the 2026 JET Application processing season. Processing staff will have the opportunity to learn more about the JET Program from an administrative perspective. This is a temporary position from November 5, 2025 (Wednesday) to December 19, 2025 (Friday) with the possibility of some flexibility in start and end dates. This is an in-person position based out of our office at the Embassy of Japan in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deadline:
<\/strong>Applicants are strongly encouraged to send their materials as soon as possible and before the priority deadline of Friday, October 24, 2025, at 5:00PM Eastern Time. For applications who submit materials by October 24 and are accepted past the first stage, phone interviews will be offered between Tuesday, October 28 to Wednesday, October 29. For those who do not meet the priority deadline, the final deadline is Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 5:00PM Eastern Time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Responsibilities:
<\/strong>– Checking online application materials for completeness
– Working with other processors to confirm completeness of application materials
– Preparation of application materials for review
– Organizing, scanning and data entry of documents<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working hours are 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM & 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM
As this is a temporary position, health insurance and benefits are not offered<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minimum Requirements:
<\/strong>Must be a U.S. citizen or have proper authorization to seek employment in the U.S.
Must not intend to apply to the 2026 and 2027 JET Program. Being a processing staff makes you ineligible to apply until the 2028 JET Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qualifications:
<\/strong>– Native or near-native English proficiency
– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
– Able to sit for long periods of time and focus while performing repetitive tasks
– Competent with basic computer skills
– Former JET Program participants are strongly preferred<\/p>\n\n\n\n
