This includes children\u2019s activities at our annual festivals, special events, teacher development workshops, Family Fun Days, and our MORY and Summer Tour Plus programs. The position requires a creative, dynamic and hands-on individual. The person must be able to work weekends and evening events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Position Reports to:<br><\/strong>Curator of Education<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Specific Responsibilities and Duties:<br><\/strong>\u2022 Create and implement museum educational programs for children and families.<br>\u2022 Coordinate and implement all necessary aspects of programs to ensure success and efficiency (pre-, day-of, and post-program) of set-up and breakdown.<br>\u2022 Develop, implement, and manage outreach programs for both students and adults.<br>\u2022 Develop, create, and coordinate children\u2019s (K-12) activities at our annual festivals and special event days, including the supervision of volunteers and managing setup and cleanup.<br>\u2022 Develop, implement, and oversee the Summer Tour Plus (STP) program activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Supervise daily operations of STP, which also includes training and scheduling of interns and high school volunteers for the STP program.<br>\u2022 Work with the Curator of Education in developing, creating, preparing and implementing programs for public and private school collaborations and teacher development workshops.<br>\u2022 Work with Education Staff with managing the organization and inventory of the Education Department\u2019s program supplies and replacement of various educational materials when necessary.<br>\u2022 Work in conjunction with Curator of Education to develop educational teaching materials and tour program contents<br>\u2022 Keep accurate monthly attendance and fiscal reports for all children\u2019s programs, STP and MORY program, school collaborations, and outreach programs.<br>\u2022 And other duties as specified<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<br><\/strong>\u2022 A Bachelor\u2019s degree in education, Japanese studies, Asian studies, or related field preferred.<br>\u2022 Must have knowledge of Japanese language and culture.
