Overview:
<\/strong>NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) currently has an opening in its Washington DC bureau for the
Associate Producer position. This entry-level position is a fantastic opportunity for those who are early in their careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responsibilities:
<\/strong>\uf0b7 Daily coverage of US news
\uf0b7 Monitoring breaking US\/international news
\uf0b7 Attendance at press briefings, policy speeches and think tank events around Washington
\uf0b7 Covering 2026 Mid Term elections and 2028 Presidential election
\uf0b7 Arranging all logistics for trips and being able to drive for camera crew
\uf0b7 Research for feature news stories<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Qualifications:
<\/strong>\uf0b7 Energetic and have excellent communication and organizational skills
\uf0b7 Interested in US and world news
\uf0b7 Not 9 to 5 job; be prepared to work nights and weekends as needed
\uf0b7 A team player who will do their very best to assist our correspondents, and who are capable of
bridging the different cultures between American and Japan
\uf0b7 Interest in Japan is preferred but not required
\uf0b7 Some experience in a newsroom is a plus but not required
\uf0b7 Driving License is preferred but not required<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The typical salary starts at $40,000-$48000 a year, but it can vary based on several factors.
NHK is the public broadcaster of Japan and one of the largest networks in Asia with over 100 million
viewers worldwide, including in the US via NHK World.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
