This is an outstanding opportunity for a professional seeking to grow a career in citizen diplomacy and nonprofit management with an international focus.<br><br>WorldBoston has implemented local public diplomacy initiatives since 1961. Today, we continue to facilitate international exchanges such as the Department of State\u2019s International Visitor Leadership Program and Fulbright Visiting Scholars Cultural Enrichment Program, as well as Custom Visitor Programs. This year, WorldBoston has hosted over 800 international visitors, orchestrating visits with professional peers throughout Eastern Massachusetts, along with logistics and cultural programming. WorldBoston is known for finding excellent and relevant interlocutors across a broad range of subjects. We are equally well-known for high standards in management and logistics, allowing Boston to rank consistently as one of the Top 3 cities in the U.S. in these types of programs.<br><br><strong>The Position<br><\/strong><br>The Manager oversees many aspects of WorldBoston citizen diplomacy programs, particularly in sourcing and driving WorldBoston\u2019s portfolio of Custom Visitor Programs. This role is a project management role including creating and tracking proposals, programming visits, interfacing with visitors, and national programming partners in Washington, D.C. Additionally, the Manager coaches student staff who assist with these tasks. Reporting to the Vice President for Citizen Diplomacy, the Manager is a member of the management team and works to advance the overall mission of WorldBoston, often representing the organization in the community and with national partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Duties Include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Developing the Custom Visitor Programs portfolio<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Soliciting projects to submit project proposals and grant applications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Editing proposals for submission<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submitting proposals and grant applications to D.C.-based and other partners<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Programming citizen diplomacy projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coordination with D.C.-based partners<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communication with professionals in the Greater Boston area<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arranging logistics, including virtual and hybrid events<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>participation in visits of international delegations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting new interns and co-ops in citizen diplomacy programming including project proposals and community outreach<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing content for social media and website on citizen diplomacy programs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working with the Vice President of Citizen Diplomacy to maintain high levels of citizen diplomacy programming<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing support to other programs involving international visitors, and to new programs as necessary<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attending networking opportunities in Greater Boston on behalf of WorldBoston \u25cf Day-to-day office duties, including using Salesforce to manage contacts and programs The successful candidate will bring the following qualities to the team:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commitment to and enthusiasm for international exchange and cooperation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A passion for international affairs and nonprofit excellence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exceptional accountability and reliability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaboration in a lively small team environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Superior attention to detail and motivation for outstanding performance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Initiative, creativity, and humor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High level of cultural competency; ability to interact well with highly diverse international and local participants and stakeholders<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Suite, and Salesforce (required); experience with desktop publishing software (e.g. Canva) a plus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A bachelor\u2019s degree in communications, international affairs, political science, nonprofit administration, or related field<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least 2-3 years of professional experience; examples of relevant experience include, but are not limited to, organizing events and conferences, managing travel groups, and management of interns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foreign languages are a plus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Availability to staff scheduled evening programs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Personal goals to grow and take on new responsibilities in a small team atmosphere<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Compensation:<\/strong><br>Salary range based on experience for 40-hour work week<br>Monthly MBTA pass<br>Base paid time off of 10 days annually, with accrual of one additional day per two years worked at WorldBoston<br>Paid time off for closure of the office at the end of December plus all federal and state holidays<br>Paid sick leave of up to 6 paid days per year<br>Eligibility after one year to participate in the organization\u2019s 401(k) plan with a competitive employer matching contribution (up to 5%)<br><br><strong>Application Process: <\/strong>Applicants should email a resume and cover letter to Joshua Bruno at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:jbruno@worldboston.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">jbruno@worldboston.org<\/a>\u00a0by Noon (12pm EST) Monday, December 9.<br><br>No other email inquiries please \u2013 we are not able to respond to each application.
