This includes children\u2019s activities at our annual festivals, special events, teacher development workshops, Family Fun Days, and our MORY and Summer Tour Plus programs. The position requires a creative, dynamic and hands-on individual. The person must be able to work weekends and evening events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Position Reports to:<br><\/strong>Curator of Education<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Specific Responsibilities and Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Create and implement museum educational programs for children and families.<\/li><li>Coordinate and implement all necessary aspects of programs to ensure success and efficiency (pre-, day-of, and post-program) of set-up and breakdown.<\/li><li>Develop, implement, and manage outreach programs for both students and adults.<\/li><li>Develop, create, and coordinate children\u2019s (K-12) activities at our annual festivals and special event days, including the supervision of volunteers and managing setup and cleanup.<\/li><li>Develop, implement, and oversee the Summer Tour Plus (STP) program activities.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Supervise daily operations of STP, which also includes training and scheduling of interns and high school volunteers for the STP program.<\/li><li>Work with Education Staff in developing, creating, preparing and implementing programs for public and private school collaborations and teacher development workshops.<\/li><li>Manage the organization and inventory of the Education Department\u2019s program supplies and replacement of various educational materials when necessary.<\/li><li>Work in conjunction with Curator of Education to develop educational teaching materials and tour program contents<\/li><li>Keep accurate monthly attendance and fiscal reports for all children\u2019s programs, STP and MORY program, school collaborations, and outreach programs.<\/li><li>And other duties as specified<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A Bachelor\u2019s degree in education, Japanese studies, Asian studies, or related field preferred.<\/li><li>Must have knowledge of Japanese language and culture. Experience living or working in Japan a plus.<\/li><li>Minimum 2 years experience in teaching and working with children (K-12)<\/li><li>Able to work with people of all ages<\/li><li>Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, orally and in writing<\/li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, external clients, and the public<\/li><li>A self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player<\/li><li>Strong attention to detail and able to work in a fast-pace environment<\/li><li>Have personal transportation required for outreach programs<\/li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher)<\/li><li>Required to work occasional evenings and weekend events<\/li><li>Strong organizational and computer skills<\/li><li>Experience working in a museum or cultural institution a plus<\/li><li>Experience with audio\/visual presentations<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application Process: <\/strong>Please send your resume to:\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"mailto:wlo@pbc.gov\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"aioseop-link\">wlo@pbc.gov<\/a>.
