A noted influence on Ry\u00fbsuke Hamaguchi, Hirokazu Kore-eda, and Kiyoshi Kurosawa, among many others, Shinji S\u014dmai was a consummate filmmaker\u2019s filmmaker, and Moving<\/em> is one of his most remarkable achievements. It follows the gradual, frequently messy untangling of love between a divorced couple in Kyoto as experienced by their 11-year-old daughter Renko (Tomoko Tabata, giving easily one of the greatest child performances in film), but evolves into something altogether stranger and more elemental by its conclusion. What\u2019s so exceptional about Moving<\/em> is its frank understanding of adolescent feeling and the emotional fluctuations borne out by loss and growing up, rendered in an exquisite color palette and via dexterous long takes. It\u2019s a film that is as genuinely heartbreaking as it is funny and touching. Fresh from their 20th anniversary, FLOW will be playing an anime song ONLY concert all around the world! After debuting in 2003, FLOW has an established reputation for hit anime works, including themes for anime series Naruto<\/em> (\u201cGO!!!,\u201d many others), opening themes for Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion<\/em> (\u201cCOLORS,\u201d \u201cWORLD END\u201d), and the opening theme for Tales of Zestiria the Cross<\/em> (\u201cKaze no Uta\u201d). It was #1 on the 2020 Billboard JAPAN Combined Song Chart and Streaming Song Chart, and in January 2023 the total plays surpassed 900 million streams, marking a first in Japan.
