The Center collaborates with other units, including other area studies centers, professional schools, the Spencer Museum of Art, the Lied Center, and the Hall Center for the Humanities, among others, to ensure the Center\u2019s mission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Outreach Coordinator is expected to design, develop, and deliver outreach programs on campus and beyond to a wide range of community partners: K-16 schools, business world, government, military, and the local communities. To coordinate and carry out our outreach programs, the Outreach Coordinator utilizes a wide array of creative ideas, engaging materials, and media to reach diverse audience in in-person and virtual formats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>40% Outreach Project Management<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Design outreach activities, develop programs, and maintain physical and digital materials<\/li><li>Work with KU\u2019s other units to collaborate and develop outreach programs to deliver to professional schools (especially STEM fields), research and art centers, and relevant units<\/li><li>Build and maintain K-12 and community email contact list<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>40% Outreach to the Community<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Organize and facilitate visits to Kansas and Missouri schools with talks by KU personnel on East Asian language, cultures, and studies topics of current interest<\/li><li>Organize and facilitate workshops on internationalization curriculum, especially with East Asian content, at community colleges and minority serving institutions<\/li><li>Develop plans to further outreach programs to local businesses, government, military, and community<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>20% Administrative Assistance<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Assist CEAS director as needed in outreach initiatives<\/li><li>Outreach-related grant writing and reporting<\/li><li>Handle budget, reimbursement, and other related businesses<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Evaluation of the following requirements and preferred qualifications will be made through: (1) description of educational background, work experience, and other relevant skills in the letter of application; (2) record of accomplishment and productivity addressed in the resum\u00e9; and (3) information provided from professional references.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Position Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends for activities listed in job duties<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in related field (i.e. area studies, foreign language\/literatures, education, history, etc.) and 3 years of related experience.<\/li><li>Previous experience working in a team environment<\/li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills as evidenced by application materials and interview process.<\/li><li>At least one year of previous experience with project planning and project management <\/li><li>Previous experience utilizing Microsoft Office suite products.<\/li><li>Demonstrated experience or class work in international education, especially with East Asian languages, cultures &amp; knowledge<\/li><li>Valid driver\u2019s license<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Master\u2019s or other degree in an appropriate field<\/li><li>Fluency in one East Asian language<\/li><li>Grant writing experience<\/li><li>Skills to create and maintain website, social media, podcasts, and other forms of digital media<\/li><li>Supervisory experience<\/li><li>Teaching Experience<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application Process: <\/strong>A complete application will include a resume and cover letter.
