This individual is primarily responsible for coordinating the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program with the other JET Program Coordinators and the JET Program\u2019s supervising diplomats. Please see below for a detailed listing of responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Working hours are 9:00 am \u2013 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with lunch time receptionist duty once a month and occasional weeknight and\/or weekend events (paid overtime). Salary is commensurate with experience and the skills of the candidate. Benefits include group health insurance coverage, paid time off, sick leave and an annual bonus. There is a potential annual salary increase based on individual performance. The minimum monthly base salary for this position is $3,500 USD. Successful candidates will be requested to submit their background check information.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Collaborating and communicating with the other JET Program Coordinators and the JET Program\u2019s supervising diplomats to effectively and efficiently run the JET Program\u2019s office in the United States<\/li><li>Organizing and coordinating the JET Program application processes, including application processing, the review process, and interviews<\/li><li>Communicating with JET applicants from DC, MD and VA to ensure they have submitted all of the required application documents in a timely manner and are prepared to depart to Japan<\/li><li>Communicating and collaborating with other JET Program Coordinators at Japanese Consulates in the U.S.<\/li><li>Planning and facilitating JET Program events and orientations<\/li><li>Working with the JET Alumni Association on various projects<\/li><li>Drafting and uploading posts for social media about topics related to the JET Program and Japan-US exchange<\/li><li>Responding to telephone and email inquiries pertaining to the JET Program<\/li><li>Handling administrative duties such as making appointments, developing itineraries, answering phone calls from the public and coordinating transportation for the JET Office Coordinators and the JET Program\u2019s supervising diplomats<\/li><li>Assisting diplomats with tasks related to the promotion of Japan-U.S. exchange<\/li><li>Other responsibilities as needed<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1+ years of experience in program coordination with specific preference towards education, exchange and\/or international programs<\/li><li>JET Program Alumnus Preferred<\/li><li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree<\/li><li>Fluent in English<\/li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)<\/li><li>Flexibility, resourcefulness, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.<\/li><li>Experience living or working in Japan preferred<\/li><li>Superior interpersonal and communication skills<\/li><li>Japanese language preferred<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application Process: <\/strong>Email your\u00a0<strong>resume, cover letter and reference letter(s), if any<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:jetprogram@ws.mofa.go.jp\">jetprogram@ws.mofa.go.jp\u00a0<\/a>by\u00a0<strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">May 31st<\/span><\/strong>.
