The Yomiuri Shimbun is Japan\u2019s largest daily newspaper with a circulation of nearly 8\u00a0million copies. We are headquartered in Tokyo and have over 20\u00a0international bureaus, three of which are in the United States: Washington DC, New York and Los Angeles.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Main duties include assisting our Washington-based Japanese correspondents by attending video-conference,\u00a0telephonic and in-person briefings\u00a0and\u00a0press conferences; tracking relevant news stories;\u00a0arranging and conducting interviews;\u00a0composing clear and concise memos on issues of interest; and covering various events, including those held by area think tanks and\u00a0Congress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, because there are congressional\u00a0midterm elections this\u00a0year, coverage of various elections and campaign rallies and related events will also be an important part of the reporting duties. Rapid and precise transcription is also required.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
