Chicago Futabakai Japanese School is looking for a full-time teacher to join our English Department. Main Duties Include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Design and implement lessons based on school and departmental standards.<\/li>
  • Teach ESL classes for preschool, elementary, and middle school students.<\/li>
  • Participate in department and school events, exchange programs, and internal\/external meetings.<\/li>
  • Conduct student placement and level checks, informal and formal assessments, and submit grades for each
    academic term.<\/li>
  • Create and maintain a positive learning environment.<\/li>
  • Work in a team setting to help achieve professional goals.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

    Necessary Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Native-like English ability (speaking, reading, writing, and listening).<\/li>
    • B.A. degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.<\/li>
    • Experience working in an international multicultural environment.<\/li>
    • 3-5 years of teaching experience with young English language learners.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Desired Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Master\u2019s degree in Teaching, Applied Linguistics, TESL\/TEFL or related field.<\/li>
      • 5+ years of teaching experience with young English language learners.<\/li>
      • Familiarity with WIDA standards and an ability to develop lessons in accordance.<\/li>
      • 1+ year of experience working in a Japanese school system. Familiarity with Japanese organizational structures.<\/li>
      • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills<\/li>
      • Receptive of feedback, observations, and co-teaching.<\/li>
      • Japanese proficiency (sufficient ability to attend meetings and have basic conversations with colleagues and students as necessary).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Full-Time\/Part-Time<\/strong>: Full-time (40 hours a week); 10-month academic schedule as per the Japanese school year. April-July, August-December, January-March<\/p>\n\n\n\n
