The deadline for all job applications is&nbsp;<strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">09\/02\/2022<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Work Hours<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Monday through Friday, 9:15am \u2013 6:00pm (lunch break will be from 12:30pm \u2013 1:30pm)<\/li><li>(Note: This is not a remote position. The Consulate General of Japan in New York is currently working on a hybrid schedule and attendance in the office is mandatory on scheduled days.)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Alongside diplomatic staff, lead and shape the Consulate\u2019s public-facing voice on social media<\/li><li>Draft engaging, shareable posts featuring Japanese culture and diplomatic activities<\/li><li>Monitor social media analytics and create content that respond to developing trends<\/li><li>Oversee a social media content calendar focused on events, holidays and developing trends<\/li><li>Plan campaigns to promote events organized and sponsored by the consulate<\/li><li>Draft the consulate newsletter as well as the occasional press release or social media public statement for the Consul General of Japan in New York<\/li><li>Coordinate the MEXT scholarship program, from inquires to interviews and departure<\/li><li>Various administrative tasks regarding public relations and cultural events<\/li><li>Respond to and follow-up with public inquires by phone and email<\/li><li>Other responsibilities as needed<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card holder)<\/li><li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree<\/li><li>Superior writing and communication skills<\/li><li>Experience working on Social Media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram<\/li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)<\/li><li>Fundamental skills in photo and video editing (Adobe or a software equivalent)<\/li><li>Basic understanding of social media advertising (i.e. boosts or simple campaigns)<\/li><li>Highly organized and able to multi-task with varying deadlines<\/li><li>Deep knowledge of Japanese culture and society<\/li><li>Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills<\/li><li>Team-oriented, a self-starter<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ideal Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Working fluency in Japanese is a plus but not required<\/li><li>Previous experience working in a Japanese or cross-cultural environment<\/li><li>Good photography and camera skills<\/li><li>Familiarity with organizing events with a PR or public-facing focus<\/li><li>Experience with livestreaming<\/li><li>Familiarity dealing with press or media outreach<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application Process: <\/strong>To apply, please submit&nbsp;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">YOUR RESUME WITH A COVER LETTER<\/span>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:kyujin2@ny.mofa.go.jp\">kyujin2@ny.mofa.go.jp<\/a>.
