Position:<\/strong> PR and Communications Coordinator

Thanks to the\u00a0Consulate-General of Japan in Chicago for sharing the following job opening:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responsibilities:<\/strong> Under the supervision of the Director of the Japan Information Center – <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Promote Japan-related topics and events by using the Consulate\u2019s social media tools (Facebook, Twitter etc.)<\/li>
  • Manage all contents on the Consulate\u2019s English website<\/li>
  • Draft and publish a monthly e-mail newsletter featuring Japan related topics and events in the Consulate\u2019s 10-state jurisdiction<\/li>
  • Draft speeches\/remarks for the Consulate\u2019s representative at events<\/li>
  • Assist and join programs which introduce Japan and Japanese culture (origami, tea ceremony, kendo, kimono, calligraphy etc.) to local schools and community groups<\/li>
  • General office responsibilities including attending and organizing events as well as helping other staff members\u2019 tasks as needed.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

    Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • US citizen or permanent resident holder (working permit holder).<\/li>
    • Excellent communications and writing skills.<\/li>
    • Strong computer skills including HTML\/web design skills.<\/li>
    • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills.<\/li>
    • Long-term experience of living in Japan is preferred.<\/li>
    • Bachelor\u2019s degree in marketing, communications or Japan-related studies is preferred.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Languages:<\/strong> English and Japanese are the working languages of the JIC. Native in English, proficient Japanese ability preferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
