Here’s a job passed along to us directly from the American Councils for International Education, which manages the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program:<\/span><\/p>\n

American Councils for International Education is currently hiring\u00a02021 summer Resident Director for Japanese<\/strong>\u00a0immersion program of the\u00a0Critical Language Scholarship Program<\/strong>\u00a0(CLS Program, see\u00a0www.clscholarship.org<\/a>\u00a0 for more information about the program).<\/p>\n

Resident Directors are the first-level of support for CLS students for the duration of the program. The Resident Director supports student success by ensuring the health and safety of the participants, helping them to maintain a Japanese-only language policy, and helping to acclimate them to life in Japan.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Resident Director position is a non-teaching position but requires a high level of Japanese language. The approximate dates of the program are June to August; Resident Directors also attend a three-day training in May.<\/p>\n

We seek individuals who have demonstrated student support experience for undergraduate and\/or graduate students, or experience leading or supporting a study abroad or language immersion program.\u00a0Applications review will begin in January, 2021<\/strong>\u00a0and will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.<\/p>\n
