Here’s a JET-relevant job that was passed along to us by a JET alumna. It’s based in Japan, requires a TESOL degree, and housing is provided:<\/p>\n

Founded in 1977, the Intensive English Language Institute (IELI<\/span>) at the University of North Texas was one of the first IEPs to receive accreditation from the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA<\/span>). In the IELI\u2019s storied 43-year history, thousands of students have achieved English proficiency for degree study at\u00a0UNT<\/span>\u00a0and other universities both in the U.S. and overseas.<\/p>\n

Since 2014,\u00a0IELI<\/span>\u00a0has successfully run an intensive English program for our long-term partner institution, Kansai Gaidai University, in Hirakata, Osaka, Japan. The main purpose of the\u00a0KGU<\/span>–UNT<\/span>\u00a0Super\u00a0IES<\/span>\u00a0Program is to prepare\u00a0KGU<\/span>\u00a0students in English skills and academic culture for successful study abroad experiences at U.S. universities.<\/p>\n

For academic assignments and duties, the\u00a0UNT<\/span>\u00a0Program Director in Japan (PDJ<\/span>) position is under the supervision of the Assistant Dean and Director of the\u00a0IELI<\/span>\u00a0with UNT\u2019s International Affairs. The\u00a0PDJ<\/span>\u00a0also works closely with KGU\u2019s Center for International Education to maintain a positive working relationship and to ensure compliance with host university rules and regulations.<\/p>\n
